| The meeting in Cardiff
was very successful. Gatsby Teacher
Fellows joined chemistry teachers
from schools in South Wales and the
West Country for this event and everyone
enjoyed themselves immensely. What
was more important was that everyone
learned something and took away a
range of ideas that they could use
in their own lessons. Visiting fellows
were able to enjoy the sights of Cardiff
Bay during the preceding evening and
conversation revolved around teaching
methods and styles and the GTF. This
form of networking is very productive
and a number of ideas for developing
the GTF were discussed.
What did fellows think
about the course?
"The whole day was packed
full of ideas to improve my teaching
and the pupils' learning experiences"
Sue Kendall, 2003/4 fellow
"A very valuable way to spend
a day. Fantastic ICT training facilities
and a useful and relevant course"
Sandra Clinton, 2004/5
'Peter demonstrated, with enormous
enthusiasm, dozens of ways to enliven
teaching with ICT. He needs cloning
then we could have him in every
school spreading the Word! The highlight
for me was "the herding of
cats" - but that's another
story...'
Judy Vincent, 1998/9 fellow
" I was only back a few days
when a member of staff was expressing
a longing to be able to do an interactive
worksheet of the sort we learnt
in Cardiff "
Anne Sweeney, 2002/3 fellow
"I feel inspired and fired
up to try and change some of the
archaic ways in which some of my
colleagues use ICT."
Richard Dacosta, 2001/2
fellow
