Aims: |
| |
|
| |
 |
To offer teachers and
students the opportunity to further
embrace the use of computer assisted
technologies. To provide clear navigation
through a website using video technology
|
 |
To appreciate current and emerging
technologies and consider their implications

Description: |
| |
|
| |
The recent CAD CAM Initiative
has motivated and enabled many schools to
embrace the process of designing and making
using computer technologies. Computer Aided
Design and Computer Aided Manufacture is to
be integrated into the Curriculum at Key Stage
3, Key Stage 4 and 6th Form. Artcam Pro, Pro
Desktop and 2D Design Tools are three pieces
of software that provide both teaching staff
and students with a fantastic opportunity
to achieve CAD CAM goals that were not possible
just a few years ago. As activity in this
area becomes more innovative, I will develop
a website demonstrating good practice and
raising the profile of CAD CAM in schools. |
| |
|
| |
Through talking to teachers
and accessing CAD CAM websites it is apparent
that there are very few relevant resources
for teachers and students to refer to and
share information. The site would aim to raise
the profile of the subject area and provide
stimulus for both teachers and students alike.
Video streaming technology is now providing
individuals with a dynamic, interesting and
immediate source of relevant information. |

Outcomes: |
| |
|
| |
 |
an easily navigable site
for teaching staff and students |
 |
relevant learning opportunities and
materials to act as a stimulus for school
based projects |
 |
video resources to provide guidance
through projects |
 |
video reviews of emerging and current
technologies and their relevance in
schools |
 |
exemplar materials of work completed
in schools |
