Aim |
|

To produces a series of Science
teaching activity packs for teachers to use
with their Key Stage 2 classes. |

Description |

|
| |
Whilst working as an Associate
County Advisor, running sessions on primary
science, I noticed that there were wide differences
in the scientific backgrounds of primary school
teachers. After discussions with primary colleagues
I came upon the idea of producing packs of
information and resources to help primary
teachers in this area. |

| |
The activity packs
will include: |
| |
|
| |
|
a teachers guide, this
will have two objectives |
| |
- to provide all the background information
on the topic being taught |
| |
- to aid with the delivery of the
lesson, providing key ideas on how to
introduce lessons |
|
differentiated resources that can
photocopied for use with a wide range
of abilities |
|
ICT resources that can be used as
part of the lesson |
|
| |
|
| |
As a Chemist, the first set
of the packs will cover the "Materials
and their Properties" section of the
National Curriculum. |

Outcomes (including
dissemination) |
| |
|
| |
|
a series of activity packs
covering the whole of the "Materials
and their Properties" Section of
the Science National Curriculum |
|
the activity packs will be available
as paper copies, on disk and on the
internet |
|
the packs will be available to all
the Primary schools in the area via
the county adviser |
|
the AAL Mentor primary schools will
be sent copies of the work |
|
the work will be studied as part of
a first year project towards a two year
Master degree at Homerton College |
