Aim |

To further develop primary-secondary
liaison through a cross-phase project based
on the ecology of school grounds, and so promote
"continuity and progression"; to
produce exemplar material for trainee teachers
to show the development of pupils’ understanding
of ecological concepts through the key stages. |

The project will: |

identify learning objectives
for ecological concepts at four key
stages linked to the national curriculum
|
 |
explore the use of school grounds
as a teaching resource for the delivery
of the curriculum at all key stages
|
 |
consider the development of children’s
ideas about ecological concepts from
KS1 to KS4, principally through reference
to published research |
 |
review existing support material for
teaching activities in the school grounds
|
 |
develop a cross-phase project between
the secondary school and its associate
feeder schools |
 |
develop exemplar lesson plans and
related materials for trainee teachers
in the secondary phase |
