introducing the QCA Exemplar scheme of Work
at KS1 and KS2. |

The project will involve: |

Collecting images/photographs
of mechanisms and commercially produced
products that cannot be brought into
the classroom, so that the children
can evaluate and discuss them |

Suggested questions and activities
to stimulate investigation, disassembly
and evaluation activities |
 |
Teaching aids for use in demonstration
purposes, i.e. cam models, models of
stable structures |
 |
Simple finished models and photographs
of children’s work to show what
can be done |
 |
Design sheets, questionnaires and
evaluation sheets for children and teacher
use |
 |
Examples of suitable
materials i.e. plastic sheet, wood and
fabric, that could be used with each
project with suggestions of how to use
them |
