 |
To write lesson plans
for a unit of work from the science
curriculum following Alastair Smiths
‘Accelerated Learning’ Cycle
|
 |
To reorganise my teaching & learning
environment to facilitate ‘Accelerated
Learning’ |
 |
To share my experience as widely as
possible |

Description |
| |
|
| |
Last year I attended an INSET course, ‘Accelerated
Learning in the classroom’, run by Alastair
Smith in which he introduced a series of practical
approaches to learning which benefit from: |
| |
|
| |
 |
New knowledge about how
the brain functions |
 |
Motivation and self-belief |
 |
Accessing different sorts of intelligence’s
|
 |
Retaining and recalling information
|
|
| |
|
| |
I will now put this theory into practise
and invest time and resources into carefully
developing a unit of work based firmly on
the AL principles. As I am a science teacher
I am basing the unit on a specific area of
the science curriculum. The unit will then
be held up as an example of good practise
and as such I will invite other members of
staff to come and observe AL in action and
discuss its many benefits. As my College operates
within a consortium for Rutland, the opportunity
also exists to share expertise with neighbouring
establishments. |
